Why can’t I preview my stamp online?
Initially a preview feature seems like a good idea. In fact, it would be, if you could see exactly what your stamp would look like. But you may not. With preview features, you may encounter one or more of the following problems:
- If you don’t have the font you want on your stamp installed on your computer, you won’t be able to see the “proof.” Rather, you’ll see simply an on-screen display of what you typed and no more.
- Computer automation usually means automatically adjusted text. Thus, your stamp text might wind up too condensed or stretched out. You could keep tweaking the text until it looks right—if you don’t have anything better to do.
- Not all like-named fonts are alike. For example, the stamp site may call a script font “generic.” You might also have a “generic” font, but it is a serif font. The “preview” will show your serif font, but your stamp will be made with the script one.
Additionally, online previewing options may not allow for as wide a selection of fonts or options, such as curved type and other special features. Plus, we don’t want you to have to worry about spending time sitting in front of a computer screen, fiddling with software to make your stamp just right. That’s our job and we’re happy to do it for you.
But how can I see what I’ll be getting?
Simply request a proof of your stamp before we complete your order, and we’ll gladly eMail you a copy of the stamps as they will appear. Since the copy will be made from the file that we use to create the stamp, you can be sure what you see is what you get.
How is your hand-crafted method better?
People, unlike computers, have a sense of aesthetics. We will make sure your stamp is visually appealing as well as accurate. We’ll tweak the graphics or text to make sure they look right.
I know exactly what I want in my stamp and want to design it myself. Will you let me do that?
We certainly will! We want to give you exactly what you want. Design it and then eMail us the file you used. We will use this file to create your stamp, so you can be sure every detail will be there! We accept many file formats, such as Adobe Illustrator (.AI) files, Photoshop (.PSD) files, BMP, EPS, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and more. See our Submitting Your Own Logos & Artwork page for details.
How long will it take to create a custom stamp?
Many stamp designs can be completed and a proof eMailed to you within twenty-four (24) hours of submitting your order, but some may take longer depending on the complexity of the design or any special features you may want incorporated into the design. Once approved (or once the design is complete if you have chosen not to have a proof sent to you), most stamps can be produced within forty-eight (48) hours. Most stamps will be shipped at that time. For special orders, out-of-stock stamps and the like, additional time may be required before your stamp(s) can be shipped to you. Estimated turnaround times do not include weekends and holidays.
